A message from Women in Retail
After a great deal of soul-searching and reflection, I have decided in my capacity as the sole working director that the time has come to bring Women in Retail to an end, therefore our Christmas event held on Wednesday 5th December 2018, was our last and final event for Women in Retail. It’s been an absolute privilege and pleasure over the past 13 years to bring together and be supported by, so many great and highly talented, like-minded women.
As many of you know WiR has been a passion and a purely philanthropic venture in which myself, the indispensable Anna and the board of Trustees have ensured we remain an independent community. It, therefore, feels appropriate that in this new era of listening, understanding and support for women in leadership, that we effectively ‘quit on a high’ and I step back knowing that there are organisations and communities that are now there for you.
On behalf of myself, Anna and the trustees I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the gift of your time, trust and sheer spirit of community. Together we have trail blazed, championed, made new friends and celebrated. My dearest wish would be that our legacy ensures a slightly easier path for talented women just starting their own career journeys. Without you, this never would have been possible.
Very best wishes for a prosperous 2019.
Karen, Anna and the Trustees
